Who are We?
YFEI is a student-led nonprofit fighting to make personal finance a graduation requirement in every American high school: because the skills to build a stable life shouldn’t depend on the ZIP code you grew up in.
A gap we can no longer afford to ignore.

Young Americans say that wealth feels out of reach

Require a personal finance course to graduate high school
That gap doesn’t close on its own. It compounds, into predatory loans taken without understanding the terms, retirement accounts opened a decade too late, and families locked out of the kind of generational wealth-building education that other families pass down at the dinner table.
We believe potential is universal, but education and opportunity are not. We won’t rest until each child has the resources to bridge that gap.
Three Tracks. One Mission.
Advocacy
We lobby state and federal representatives to pass financial literacy legislation, mobilizing students to testify, write, and show up where the decisions get made.
Education
We run workshops, partner with schools, and publish free digital toolkits that teach the fundamental lessons from saving to investing to students who’d otherwise never see them.
Community
We organize a network of hundreds student leaders across 10+ college campuses and 12 states, building the next generation of advocates from the ground up.
This is your fight too.
Whether you’re a student who wants to lead a chapter, an educator looking for free curriculum, a policymaker ready to move legislation, or a supporter who believes every kid deserves a fair shot — there’s a place for you here.
